Sustainability Statement

We are committed to looking after our land & the wildlife we share it with in a sustainable manner.

We grow our flowers in our large family garden in the beautiful village of Corscombe.  Every single stem has been grown and nurtured by hand.  Our flowers are truly seasonal and naturally grown.

We grow with the seasons and alongside nature.  We work hard to ensure that the diversity and health of our soil, flowers, plants and the wider ecosystem is nurtured as naturally as possible.  To feed our flowers we use homemade comfrey and nettle solutions along with organic liquid seaweed.  We only ever use peat free or homemade compost.

Where do my flowers come from?

Most flowers that are bought in the UK are grown abroad and then imported via the Dutch Flower Auctions.  Approximately only 14% of cut flowers sold in the UK are grown here (The Guardian, 2022).  If we are becoming more aware of the provenance of our food, then we must surely think about the provenance of our flowers.  You can find out more about local versus imported flowers here.

By choosing to buy from your local flower grower you are not only supporting their business but you are also helping to increase the profile of the beautiful flowers that are grown in the UK.  You will be supporting the climate, our local wildlife and our environment.
